Gay people can't marry

I just found out that a friend got married last weekend. She just got out of a relationship in October and now is married to her rebound. She got married in Las Vegas to some guy we went to high school with. She got out of a relationship IN OCTOBER! Yet gay people who have been with their partners for years can't get married.

I am a straight girl and I think it is sweet how Portia and Ellen describe their love.
